This vast collection of traditional stories is filled with important life lessons. Each tale is about one to two pages of print and includes a black and white drawing and an application after the story with its theme. This tale in particular reminds me of one of my grandfather's favorite sayings "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!" and my mother's "the enemy of good is better". It explains this is a scenario with frogs and gods, utilizing the fantastical to appeal to young children. The text is difficult but parents can read it aloud to children and elaborate on the lessons and how they might be applied to their lives.

While I must recognize that these stories are many of the originals or close to them, they are decidedly short and old fashion. Many of them exist in more modern, nuanced, and colorful versions that would probably appeal more to children.
